Hornets prepare for Oak Grove

The Rayville Hornets took to the field last Friday by hosting the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers.

The Hornets lost the game 54-8. 

The Cavaliers came out to a 28-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and managed to stop the Hornets from scoring again the rest of the game.

CBA then added 13 points in the second quarter to go into the half with a 41-8 lead and another 13 points in the third quarter to move ahead 54-8.

The fourth quarter remained scoreless and the game ended with a CBA victory.

Gators open season with victory

The Delhi Charter School Gators opened their season with a 25-18 victory over the Delta Charter School Storm.

Delta Charter got on the board but the Gators tied the game up at 6-6 by the end of the first parish.

The Storm scored again in the second quarter, but the Gators answered with 13 points of their own to go into halftime with a 19-12 lead for the Gators.

After a scoreless third quarter, both teams managed to score in the fourth quarter and the game ended with the Delhi Charter School Gators in the lead 25-18.

The Mangham Dragons began their regular football season by scoring a 34-26 victory over the Rosepine Eagles last Friday night. This Friday, the Dragons will travel to St. Fredericks to take on the Warriors.

Dragons open season with win over Rosepine

The Mangham Dragons opened their regular season with a 34-26 win over the Rosepine Eagles last Friday night.
The teams were evenly matched going into halftime with a 14-14 tie as the Snapdragons performed, followed by the Rosepine High school band who did a rendition of Wrath and Redemption.
Next, the Eagles kicked off to the Dragons who needed only three plays to score a touchdown and extra point to move ahead to a 21-14 lead.

Riverfield wins big over River Oaks on Thursday

In a Thursday night match up, the Riverfield Raiders upped their season record to 3-0 last  week. 

The Raiders played host to the River Oaks Mustangs in the annual BEAT RIVER OAKS bout. This year Riverfield proved early on to be the more dominant team. 

Dragons play Tigers during Bayou Jamb

The Mangham Dragons traveled to ULM Saturday to take on the Oak Grove Tigers as part of Bayou Jamb.

The Dragons played two 12-minute halves before falling 35-12 to the Tigers. Mangham’s Caleb Pleasant was voted MVP for Mangham. 

Oak Grove’s kick off was caught by Mangham’s J.T. Smith, but three plays later, the Dragons turned possession over to Oak Grove on downs after a failed pass. The Tigers capitalized on their possession to score their first touch down and PAT for a 7-0 lead with 8:45 on the clock.
