Myrtis Nichols Payne

Mrs. Myrtis Nichols Payne, age 99, passed away Wednesday, May 08, 2019 in Rayville, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on January 9, 1920 to Robert Lee and Ida Miller Nichols. Miss. Myrtis, as everyone called her, was preceded in death by her husband, William Marvin Payne; son-in-law, Tom Whatley; granddaughter, Britney Raborn; her parents; all seven of her siblings; and a special niece, Chrystal Futch.

Amelia Lindsey Elkins

Amelia Lindsey Elkins, 92, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2019 in Baton Rouge. 

She was born in Haynesville. on May 1, 1927.  

She was preceded in death by Charles R. Elkins, her loving husband of over 60 years and one son, Clarence Alan Elkins of Baton Rouge.

She worked in the East Baton Rouge Parish school system for many years, finishing her career as Principal at LaSalle Elementary School.  

Betty Joan Jeselink Pyles Stewart

Graveside services for Betty Joan Jeselink Pyles Stewart, 87, of Holly Ridge, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Bethel Cemetery, Holly Ridge, with Bro. Anthony Stewart officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mrs. Betty was born April 22, 1932 in Mangham and passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at Deerfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Delhi.

Tommy Randall Hogan

Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Randall Hogan 62 of Start will be held at 9 a.m. May 11 at the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville.

Mr. Hogan was employed by Louisiana Caterpillar for 43 years at the time of his death. Mr. Hogan was an avid deer hunter, loved the outdoors, he also loved to fly RC Aircraft, enjoyed wood working and dearly loved his family.

Mr. Hogan is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest G. Hogan and Tommie Dee Bowman Hogan and one sister, Karen Ruth Hogan.
