The Delhi Police Department is investigating the murder of a 46-year-old resident.

Buford Dean Jr., 46, of Baskin Parks Road, Delhi, was found dead in a field near Martin Luther King and Ray Street around 7:30 a.m. June 24. Bean had been stabbed.

"We are going to find who did this," Delhi Police Chief Roy Williams said. "That man was a father, he was a son, he has relatives and he deserves that."

Williams said the investigation is now under way with the aid of the Richland Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana State Police.

Angie Snuggs of Richland Parish is one of 15 Louisiana special education leaders  selected to participate in the inaugural “SPED Fellow Academy,” a yearlong, comprehensive development program for aspiring and novice special education leaders across the state. 

Snuggs is the special education supervisor for the Richland Parish School District.

A Las Vegas woman has been arrested in connection with the vandalism of the Mangham Little League Baseball Park.

Mangham Police Chief Perry Fleming said Krystal Rae Hamman, 28, of Las Vegas, was arrested June 15 and charged with criminal damage to property and criminal mischief to property. 

 She was booked into the Richland Parish Detention Center.

Fleming said Hamman was arrested at the Days Inn Motel in Rayville by the Mangham Police Department.
