Noble honored by Louisiana with distinguished service award

Charles Noble III of Mangham was recently given the Distinguished Service to North Louisiana Agriculture Award  at the Northeast LA Ag Expo awards banquet in West Monroe. 

The presentation was made by Sen. Francis Thompson, who is chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee for Louisiana.

In 1979, Charles Noble left his engineering career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to join his parents on the family farm in Richland Parish. 

Cool Kids program aids residents of Tallulah

Deanna H. Harrison’s Cool Kids Mentoring Program hosted its first Relief Drive Saturday at the Rayville Civic Center Branding the theme “Am I My Brothers Keeper.”

The program was collecting water for the Town of Tallulah. The goal was to collect 100 cases of water between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. 

Program Event Planner Erica White went to social media for help and the cry was heard. 

Cool Kids was able to collect 132 cases of water to be delivered on Monday morning.

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of Jan. 21-28.

• Joseph Davis, 66, 705 Spruce St., Rayville; simple battery.

• April Adkins, 37, 2107 North 7th St., West Monroe; no driver’s license.

• Tony Gary, 35, 105 Waldorf St., Rayville; resisting arrest, no license plate lamp and two brake lamps.

• Laquita Briggs, 33, 105A South Circle Drive, Rayville; disturbing the peace by fighting.
