Saints Alive, a ministry of First Baptist Church, Rayville, met on Monday, February 26, at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
President Helen Diamond welcomed everyone. Prayer requests were voiced. We were so happy to have Mike Robinson, Bill Thorpe, Mickey Shoemaker Fisher, Hope Davis, and Allen and Diane Nettles visiting with us.
March is national Nutrition Month.
National Nutrition Month is a nutrition education and information campaign created annually in March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign solely focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.
The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of March 4-11.
• Kenneth Boston, 53, 18 Tuscany Way, Rayville; simple battery (two counts).
• Detra Brown, 32, 518 Eugene St., Rayville; theft greater than $300 and less than $1,000.
• Timothy Chaplin, 25, 4782 Hwy 165 South, Monroe; no driver’s license.
• Johnathan Bell, 28, 206 Cotton St., Rayville; disturbing the peace by fighting.
SEWANEE, Tenn. — Elizabeth Lacey Shackelford of Mer Rouge has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of the South for the fall 2017 term.
To earn a place on Sewanee’s Dean’s List, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale. Elizabeth is the daughter of Lucy & John Shackelford.
