Hedgemon named DHS student of the year

Congratulations to the Delhi High School Student of the Year Adrianna Hedgemon.

Hedgemon is a graduating senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.8. She plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe to accomplish her goal of becoming a registered nurse. She aspires to one day work at Glenwood. 

She has been a member of the Lady’s Basketball, Lady’s Softball, and cheer during all four years of high school. She is a member of BETA club and currently on the yearbook staff. During her junior year, she was named Second Team All-District in softball. She has received numerous academic awards throughout her high school career. She will graduate with 39 credit hours. 

Hedgemon is a member of Epps Church of God in Christ. She has participated in the choir, taught Vacation Bible School, and participated in several church pageants. Currently she represents 120 churches in the United States as Ms. First Jurisdiction. 

Johnny Hedgemon, Jr., Adrianna’s brother, has inspired her to do her best in school. She has seen him face many struggles including living in his car while working on his masters online in Dallas. He has become a successful security officer renting an apartment while he waits for the right home to purchase.
