Holly Ridge Happenings

A man may go to Heaven without health, without wealth, without fame, without a great name, without learning, without earning, without culture, without beauty, without friends and without ten thousand other things. But he can NEVER go to Heaven without Christ.

Dan and Carol Little from West Monroe came over on Tuesday for a most welcome visit. They were just in awe about how many geese we had in Holly Ridge. Carol said she had never seen anything like it!

Jesus, I whispered as I knelt down to pray. I called out the name of Jesus and nothing else did I need to say.

As I called the sweet name of Jesus it drew Him very near. Cause there’s power in His name that will cast out all fear.

Jesus, I whispered during the darkness of the night a ray of hope stirred within as I hung on with all my might.

When I called the name of Jesus my prayer ascended to the throne.

Holly Ridge Happenings

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you, making  you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. The point is whatever is inside the cup, is what will spill out. Therefore, when life come along and shakes you (which will happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It’s easy to take it, until you get rattled. So, we have to ask ourselves, what’s in my cup? When life gets tough, what spills out?

Life’s Bittersweet Disappointments are  God’s Sweetest Appointments

Out of Life’s misery born of man’s sin a richer, fuller life begins. For when we are helpless with no place to go our hearts are heavy and our spirits are low. If we place our poor, broken live in God’s hands and surrender ccomplety to His will and demands the “darkness lifts” and the “sun shines through”. And by His touch, we are “born anew”

When Cardinals appear,

loved ones are near.

Those we love don’t go away,

they walk beside us every day.

Unseen, unheard, but always near.

So loved, so missed, so very near!

Churches have changed

Society has changed

People have changed

But God’s word remains the same!

Thanks to those of you who called to tell me how much you enjoy my news, I only wish I had more. Maybe soon.
