Cross country team

Riverfield cross country team competes in meet

For the first time in several years, Riverfield Academy participated in the MAIS cross country.

This year’s cross country team included three high school members and 12 JV members.

At the overall state meet held at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss., Haley Stansbury took second place in the 3-A girls individual competition. The JV girls team placed in the top ten in team competition.

The meet took place on Oct. 23.

Raiders drop game to Leake Academy, 50-22

The Riverfield Academy Raiders were in action home this past Friday night against Leake Academy.

The Raiders came up short in the contest, suffering a 50-22 loss.

The Leake Academy Rebels came out strong against the Raiders, outscoring them 31-6 in the first half. Riverfield’s first-half score came on a second-quarter pass completion from Garrett Brakefield to Alex Allen, a 13-yard completion for a touchdown.
