Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of April 18-25.

• Dedarius McDaniel, 20, 1438 South Circle Drive, Rayville; no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.

• John Thornton, 50, 114B North Circle Drive, Rayville; damage to property greater than $100 and remaining after being forbidden.

• Shyhiem Greely, 27, 306 South Second St., West Monroe; aggravated assault.

• Shanlin Johnson, 29, 35 Dotson Road, Bee Bayou; damage to property less than $100.

Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of April 4-11.

• Jonathan Loftin, 38, 516 Spencer St., Apt 4, Rayville; trespassing.

• Adrion Turner, 21, 307 Dacron St., Rayville; aggravated assault with a firearm (three counts).

• Jerbreda Brown, 44, 502 Cotton St., Rayville; disturbing the peace (general), damage to property, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, attempting disarming of a peace officer and resisting arrest by force or violence (two counts).

Mangham student earns scholarship

Kennedy Bruce of Mangham was among a number of high school graduates recently awarded $500 WoodmenLife Focus Forward Scholarships. 

The students, who are all WoodmenLife members, submitted applications highlighting their high school grades, activities and volunteerism, as well as an essay on patriotism.

“These youth embody all that WoodmenLife stands for,” said WoodmenLife President and CEO, Patrick L. Dees. “We are honored to provide these scholarships to help our deserving young members further their education and realize their dreams.”

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of March 28 through April 4.

• Charolette Thomas, 52, 98 Sugar Hill Road, Rayville; failure to appear for driving under suspension and failure to appear on no head light.

• Holly Linder, 46, 173 Linder Road, Wisner; simple criminal trespass.

• Samantha Thompson, 27, 1596 Hwy 151 N, Calhoun; driving under suspension and expired plate.

• Lashawn Lyons, 19, 111 Dacron St., Rayville; disturbing the peace (general).
