Police Report
The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of April 4-11.
• Jonathan Loftin, 38, 516 Spencer St., Apt 4, Rayville; trespassing.
• Adrion Turner, 21, 307 Dacron St., Rayville; aggravated assault with a firearm (three counts).
• Jerbreda Brown, 44, 502 Cotton St., Rayville; disturbing the peace (general), damage to property, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, attempting disarming of a peace officer and resisting arrest by force or violence (two counts).
• Tarius Johnson, 25, 1007 Glenda Ave., Lufkin, Texas; no driver’s license and speeding.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of 22 traffic citations this week. That number includes 11 for speeding, two each for driving under suspension and improper lane change with an accident and one each for no driver’s license, switched license plate, no proof of insurance, failure to yield with an accident, failure to secure license and registration, tail lights (two required) and disturbing the peace by loud music.

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to remind the citizens of Rayville that using physical violence is not a way to resolve your differences.
“Whenever you are in a disagreement with someone and you feel that it might turn physical, the best thing to do is walk away,” he said. “If walking away does not solve the problem, call the police department before it escalates.”
Chief Robinson would also like to tell all parents that it is good to monitor their children’s activities. Chief Robinson stated there have been several issues with guns in the Town of Rayville.
Chief Robinson stated if you are caught with a firearm illegally, you will be arrested.
He would like to tell the parents that it is good to be nosey in your children’s business.
Chief Robinson stated being nosey could save your child’s life and the life of others.
