The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office will be host a concealed carry class April 24 at the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office Rifle Range located at the Richland Parish Detention Center at 456 Hwy. 15 Rayville. 

The class will begin at 8 a.m. and last approximately eight hours. The class will be limited to 45 participants.  If the class goes over 45 the overage will be contacted and given first opportunity for the next class set tentatively for sometime in May.

• Care and Share will have a half price sale March 19 at 1214 Rosa St., Rayville.Care and Share director Angie Collins said the charity was unable to host this popular event earlier due to COVID-19 restrictions, but shoppers are invited to attend the March 19 event.

• The food box from Food for Families/Catholic Charities  also known as the “cheese-box” will be distributed March 19. Two boxes will be passed out to make up for the February box which was missed due to bad weather last month. 

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of March 7-14.

• Peter Wheeler, 24, 134 A South Circle Drive, Rayville; simple battery.

• Shaderrica McMillion, 20, 209 Quail St., Rayville; simple battery and damage to property.

• Quintarrius Bias, 28, 33 Trio Road, Rayville; aggravated assault.

• Lemario Martinez, 19 YOA, 114 Wanda St., Rayville; displaying a firearm.
