Bayou Family Care hosts ribbon cutting

Bayou Family Care cuts the ribbon on its new facility at 832 Julia St., Rayville, March 30. The facility offers primary care for patients from infancy throughout adulthood and encompasses a wide range of medical services, including the care of acute and chronic health conditions. This practice provides services by appointment or on a walk-in basis and telehealth visits are available.

McClain scholarships now available afor RHS students

The William and Hannah McClain Foundation has scholarships available for two deserving students of the 2021 graduating class of Rayville High School.

To be considered for a scholarship, the student must meet the following criteria:

• Has maintained at least a 2.8 grade point average for grades 9-12 (enclose a sealed official transcript application);

• Must be financially disadvantaged;

• Must be accepted as a full-time student in a college/university of his/her choice

(Please submit a copy of the college/university acceptance letter.);

Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of March 21-28.

• Darion Harris, 26, 4318 Oak Side, Huston, Texas; wrong way on the one way, no driver’s license, no insurance and no registration.

• Damarion Clark, 21, 109 Newsome St., Rayville;

careless operation, no driver’s license and failure to secure registration.

• Briana Parker, 19, 205 William Roberts Drive Apt. A Rayville, leaving the scene of an accident, no driver’s license, failure to secure registration and no insurance.

Soil and water district supervisor election set

Boeuf River Soil and Water Conservation District office will take nominations for district supervisor April 1-30.

For individuals interested in serving, nomination petitions can be obtained from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Boeuf River Soil and Water Conservation District office, 141 Industrial Loop, Rayville, LA 71269 (located in the Richland Parish USDA Service Center). 

Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of March 15-21.

• Fredrick Wheeler, 43, 1902 Louisa St., Rayville; disturbing the peace (general) and trespassing.

• Linda Mack, 55, 401 Rosa St., Rayville; resisting arrest and running a red light.

• Adreanna Kendricks, 22, 224 Reinhart Drive, Apt.28, Rayville; five counts of damage to property and trespassing.

• One juvenile was charged with aggravated battery.
