W.M.DeFreese

Funeral Services for Mr. W.M.(Bill) DeFreese, 99, of Start, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30,2020, in the mausoleum chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe with Rev. Jeff Thomas officiating. 

Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. at the mausoleum. Arrangements are under the directions of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road. 

Albert Levon Patterson

Memorial services for Mr. Albert Levon Patterson of Hebert, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Mangham Community Center in Mangham, with the Rev. Yancy Martin and Beverly Spillers officiating.

  Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro.  A reception will follow directly after the service at the community center.

Mr. Patterson was born August 24, 1943 in Mangham, and passed from this life on May 8, 2020 at his home in Hebert at the age of 76.

Eddie Sue Middleton

Graveside services for Eddie Sue Middleton, 76, of Denham Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Greer Cemetery, Rayville, with Bro. Prentis Gandy officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mrs. Eddie Sue was born January 1, 1944 in Dallas, TX and passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 in Baton Rouge, LA.

Charles Jasper Middleton

Charles Jasper Middleton, affectionately known as “Bubba,” came into this world on October 17, 1941 in Richland Parish in north Louisiana. 

He was the third-born child of Jasper Alex Middleton and Willie Gay Cline Middleton. Bubba was the only brother amongst his three sisters, Carol Middleton Calhoun, Bonnie Middleton Rockett, and Diane Middleton. 

Bubba grew up in Rayville, where he played football and graduated from Rayville High School.

Samuel Philip Scurria, M.D.

Samuel Philip Scurria, M.D., aged 84, died peacefully on June 5, 2020, in Delhi, Louisiana.

Dr. Sam was born in Tallulah, Louisiana, on November 21, 1935, to Nettie Veronica Dichiara and Philip Samuel Scurria, Sr. 

After earning his degree from LSU Medical School in 1961, Dr. Sam completed his medical internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and then served as a Captain in the US Air Force in Shreveport and Lake Charles.
