Wreaths Across America plans being finalized

Final plans are in full swing for the Fourth Annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony at 11 a.m. Dec. 14. 

This beautiful ceremony, honoring our veterans and fallen heroes everywhere, will be held in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery just south of Rayville on Highway 425. Scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. it will coincide with other ceremonies being held around the world at that same time. 

Prayer breakfast slated

The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office and Triad will sponsor the 2019 Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfasts.

The prayer breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. Nov. 25 at the Rayville Civic Center and at 8 a.m. Nov. 26 at the Delhi Civic Center.

All Richland Parish seniors, 60 and over, are invited to come and pray for the community, enjoy the fellowship, have breakfast and enter to win door prizes.

Salvations Cross

Rayville’s skyline has changed with the addition of a 120-feet tall cross constructed near the east-bound exit of Interstate 20.

God’s plans has become reality in Salvation’s Cross

What started as a God inspired desire in the heart of the late Timmie Ray Thames three years ago has now become a reality.

Salvation’s Cross has now been lifted and stands 120 feet in the air at the East bound I-20 Rayville Exit.

Richland voters head to the polls

Election Day for the gubernatorial general election is from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 16.

Items on the Nov. 16 ballot will include runoff elections for governor, secretary of state and three Richland Parish police jury positions.

John Bel Edwards and Eddie Rispone will face each other in the governor’s race.

Kyle Ardoin and Gwen Collins-Greenup will face off in the race for secretary of state.

Barbara Carol and Joe “Rickey” Dorsey will face each other in the race for police jury in district 3.

Steve Adcock will face Steve Lofton in district 4.
