Setsuko Collier

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Setsuko (Sisco) Collier, 90, of Monroe, formerly of Mangham, were held Saturday, January 5, 2019 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, with Rev. Rick Aultman officiating.

Interment followed in the Gwin Memorial Cemetery in Mangham.

Sisco was born on August 18, 1928 in Tokyo, Japan and passed away on January 1, 2019 after a lengthy illness.  She married Buddy Felter, a U.S. soldier stationed in Japan, in 1947 and came to America in 1952.  Sisco worked for many years at the sewing factory in Mangham.  She was especially adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  “Grandma” had many sayings that her grandchildren loved to repeat, including her many Japanese phrases.  She was a fierce competitor in cards and other games, and was a delight to many people.  Her greatest accomplishment was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Collier was preceded in death by her husband, Ellison (Buddy) Felter, Sr. and husband, Frank Collier; and her daughter, Margaret Francis.

Survivors include her daughter, Mona (Johnny Wayne) Chisholm of Mangham, LA; son, Ellison (Kathy) Felter of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Molly (Chip) Sullivan of Start, LA; grandchildren: Buddy (Christina) Felter, Melissa (Carl) Harwell, Chris (Madina) Francis, Tracy (Toby) Godfrey, Michael (Angie) Chisholm, April (Jason) Dupeire, Jason (Sarah) Cheek, Alex Felter, and Kade Felter; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jason Cheek, Michael Chisholm, Jason Dupeire, Buddy Felter, Chris Francis, and Toby Godfrey.
