Samuel Carlisle Stephenson

Funeral services for Samuel Carlisle ‘Sam’ Stephenson, 75, of Riverview, FL, formerly of West Monroe, were held Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Jackson Street Church of Christ, Monroe, with Bro. Don DeLukie and Bro. Terry Ware officiating. 

Interment followed in the Reagan Cemetery, Baskin, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mr. Sam was born January 12, 1945 in Rayville and passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in Riverview, FL.

Mr. Sam was a veteran with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bell Shoals Church of Christ and former member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ for 45 years. 

Mr. Sam is preceded in death by his son, Chris Stephenson; parents, Annie and Samuel Clinton Stephenson; and his siblings, Mary Ann McIntyre, Charlie Benjamin Stephenson, and John ‘J.T.’ Stephenson.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jackie Phillips Stephenson of Riverview, FL; son, Brandon Stephenson and wife, Jennifer of Apollo Beach, FL; grandchildren, Gatlin Stephenson, Charlie Stephenson, Brittany Stephenson, and Brileigh Stephenson; sisters, Pearl Belles and husband, Russ and Carolyn Sue McGough; and his brother, Glen Stephenson and wife, Juanita.

Pallbearers were Dan Davis, Tony Seals, Russ Belles, Chuck Bronson, Kenneth Childress and Wayne Allen. 

Honorary pallbearers were Galtin Stephenson and Charlie Stephenson.
