Matthew Joshua Brakefield

Matthew Joshua Brakefield, 40, of Rayville, was born July 23, 1981, in Monroe and passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, in Baton Rouge.

Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Brakefield; grandparents, Bill and Nelda Brakefield and Woody and Sybil Perkins; and his cousin, Scott Blake.

Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Brakefield of Rayville; son, Landon Orr; siblings, Jay Brakefield and wife, Chastidy, of Start, Michael Brakefield and wife, Faith, of Start, and Mandy Brakefield of Rayville; nieces and nephews, Garrett Brakefield, Hudson Brakefield, Grayson Brakefield, Holt Brakefield, Ava Brakefield, Liam Brakefield, Alex Townsand and Jade Brakefield; uncles and aunts, Rusty Brakefield and wife, Janet, Jimmy Shoemaker, Betty Weaver and husband, Richard, and Brenda Castleberry.

Visitation was held Friday, April 22, 2022 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.
