Maggie Jewel Malone

Services for Maggie Jewel Malone, 86, of Start will be Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville with Rev. John Cox officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Start Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville.

Maggie was born on April 24, 1932 in Delhi and passed away July 6, 2018 in Monroe. She loved the outdoors, her flower beds, gardening and watching hummingbirds. She loved grandchildren and family. She enjoyed coloring in coloring books. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church. She was a retired CNA for over 30 years at Richardson Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her; husband of 28 years, Bud Malone; parents, Jeff David and Lottie Steel Hust; daughter, Patsy Malone; brothers, Thomas Hust and Alvin Hust; sisters Auddie Wilkes, Louise Mosley, and Mary May Dell Sykes.

She is survived by her sons, David R. Malone and wife Patti of Start, Kenneth Joe “Doc” Malone of Start and Alfred “Rep” and wife Brenda of West Monroe; eight grandchildren, Cristy Holder and husband Ersel of Princeton, LA, Cherie Dickerson of Haughton, Jacob Malone of Start, Misty Del Rio and husband Samuel of Start, Christi Tuberville and husband Chris of Start, Mark Bailey and wife Angela of West Monroe, and April Shipp and husband Alan of Herbert; nine great grandchildren; sister, Dennie and husband A. J. Higdeon of West Monroe; and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Tuberville, Adam Holder, Caleb Thompson, Wendell Malone, Gary Tubbs, Mark Bailey, and Jacob Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Dickerson and Paul Bairnsfather.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2018 at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
