James E. Oliver Jr.

Funeral services for James E. Oliver Jr., 69, of Rayville, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the First Assembly of God Church, Rayville, with Bro. Mike Jackson officiating. 

Interment was in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

James was born August 11, 1954, in Monroe, and passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, in Rayville, after a lengthy illness.

James was a veteran with the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and James Oliver Sr.; and brother, Richard Oliver.

Survivors include his sisters, Linda Gail Jennings and Teresa Gilbert and husband, Ronnie; nieces, Heather Jennings, Laura Pendergraft and Sevanna Oliver; nephew, Corey Gilbert; special aunt and uncle, Betty and Ernie Lard; special uncle, Jim Foster and wife, Patti; and numerous cousins, friends, and other family members.

Pallbearers were Josh Brown, Reginald Jackson, David Piercy, William Oxley, Dudley Henson and Dewayne Del Rio. 

Honorary pallbearers were Matt Campbell, Jacob Ladner, Jonathan Garrett, TJ Weed, Jason Ricks, Dexter Houston, Chase Sartin, Artis Brown, Lauren Ferrell, Donovan Epnett, Jeremiah Augustine, Derek Whitney, Felton Washington, Edmun Williams, Esaw Turner, Jvonte Hudson, John Shoemaker, Ron Whitney, Logan Rudd, Ronald Dozier, Trey Middleton, Rhondie Morris, Charles Gray, Jordan Thomas and Johnny Lord.
