Herbert Julian Parker
Memorial services for Herbert Julian Parker, 72, of Rayville, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, with Brother Buddy McGurk officiating.
Mr. Herbert was born January 18, 1950, in Winnsboro, and passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, in Delhi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Aline Parker.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Diane Parker Cuiffo; children, Shari Smith and husband, Ricky, Stacy Sikes and husband, Sean, Craig Parker, Wayne Parker, and Deni Boykin and husband, Josh; live-in grandson, Frankie Wilson and fiance’ Kevina; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Lonnie Parker and wife, Patricia, and Charles Parker and wife, Kathleen; and sister, Lucille Rhoads.
Herbert resided at Huckleberry Acres in Holly Ridge. He retired from a career in commercial and residential heating & cooling.
For the past few years, he was an instructor at Delta Community College where he taught HVAC. He enjoyed teaching those that wanted to learn.
He loved gardening, canning, fishing and spending quality time with his family. He was a wonderful dad not only to his own kids, but many others. He was an even greater Pappaw to his grandkids and great grands.
He loved to celebrate the holidays. You could always count on an inspirational speech, a prayer and always an “I Love You.” Family was very important to him. Although he didn’t get to see his brothers and sister as often as he would have liked, he thought of them often and stayed in touch over the phone. He has always loved God, but over the last few years, he made his peace with his Lord and Savior.
There are many things that Herbert accomplished in his lifetime, but the most important of them all was the love that he showed his family and friends.
He leaves us with a great legacy some families never get the chance to experience with one another.
