Gerald Barnett

Funeral services for Gerald “Mr. Ears” Barnett, 68, of Rayville, were held Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville with Dr. Eddie Wren officiating. 

Interment followed in the Greer Cemetery, Rayville.

Mr. Gerald was born December 6, 1950 in Idabel, OK and passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 in West Monroe.

Mr. Gerald was a member of the National Hot Rod Association for over 50 years and was the 2013 Louisiana state champion. He owned and operated Gerald Barnett Trucking Company for over 42 years. He is preceded in death by his son, Gerald Wayne Barnett, Jr.; parents, B.W. and Blanche Barnett; brothers, Bobby Barnett and Arthur “Butch” Barnett; sister-in-law, Glenda Morris; and his brother-in-law, Sonny Moody.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kitty Barnett of Rayville; sons, Travis Barnett and wife, Tracey of Rayville and Cody Barnett of Rayville; grandchildren, Eli Barnett and Tori Barnett; brother, Ronald Barnett of Calhoun; sisters-in-law, Diane Smith, Dixie Stovall, Bobbie Lord, and Tammy Malone and husband, Reggie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Terry Morris, Kevin Morris, Eddie Lord, Tommy Lord, Byron Jordan and Rodney Jordan.
