Fred Dee Perritt

Funeral services for Fred Dee Perritt of Rayville were held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Rayville, with Pastor Justin Clark officiating.

Interment was Saturday at the Alabama Cemetery, Arcadia. under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Born March 17, 1943, in Ruston, Fred passed away at the age of 81 in his home, Tuesday, April 30, 2024. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Dee and Bessie Simpson Perritt; and his brothers, Ross Perritt and Willis Perritt; all of Arcadia.

A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Rayville, Fred was well known throughout his community and the agricultural industry of North Louisiana. He was a partner of Delta Ridge Implement from 1973 until 1988 when he established Deltaland. After leaving Deltaland, Fred continued as a domestic and international equipment broker through Machinery Sales Inc. until his passing. He also partnered with his brothers to found Perritt Brothers Farms in Arcadia where they raised cattle for over 40 years. He was an active member on the board of the Deep South Equipment Dealers Association, the Rayville High School Booster Club and the Rayville Moose Lodge. Spending time with his children and grandchildren and keeping up with old friends brought him the greatest joy. 

Fred is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kaye Perritt of Rayville; children, Cynthia Mix of Rayville, Rebecca Ahrens (Andrew) of Lafayette, Wayne Perritt (Monique) of Winnsboro, Michael Perritt (Kristi) of Covington and Amy Kathleen Smith (Michael) of Shreveport; grandchildren, Sarah Michael Montreuil (Justin), Laura Laine Ahrens, Mary Drew Ahrens, Elise Perritt, Connor Perritt, Justin Michael Perritt, Wyatt Allen Perritt, Luke Smith, Max Henry Smith and Anderson Smith; sisters-in-law, Betty Perritt and Hilda Perritt; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Justin Perritt, Wyatt Perritt, Connor Perritt, Luke Smith, Michael Smith and Greg Perritt.

Honorary pallbearers were Claude Payne, Everett Brooks, Jim Adams, Darrell Larker, Tim Jones, Max Henry Smith, Anderson Smith, Michael Rivers and John Carroll.
