Elizabeth Lea Bailey Jackson

Elizabeth Lea Bailey Jackson, age 39, passed away on April 22, 2022.

Lea was born on September 10, 1982, and resided in her small town of Rayville, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into her heart.

At a young age, her personality blossomed. It was contagious, bright, and full of joy. Lea was a dynamically vibrant social butterfly and the life and soul of any setting. She thrived through making others happy while celebrating life to the fullest. Lea took every opportunity to make memories through her generosity, adventurous spirit, and charismatic charm. She loved country music so much, she even made her friends listen to it to fall asleep during sleepovers. She loved to sing and put on a production for everyone to enjoy. Her dear family and friends often had to endure her making music videos with the home video recorder. If they were lucky enough, they had to dress up as backup dancers and singers.

Lea was the first one to speak of her faith, trust, and love to our Heavenly Father and felt the most grounded when in church and reading her bible.

After graduating from Riverfield Academy, Lea attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Lea met her husband, Ronnie and married him on May 16, 2015. Lea’s dream of becoming a mother came true in 2021 when they welcomed Elaina Marie. Even though she only had six months with her, the love and devotion she provided for Elaina will last an eternity. Elaina was her true happiness and made each day brighter. As Lea often stated, Elaina was her miracle baby who made her life complete.

Some of Lea’s favorite activities were traveling the world with her family, spending summers at Lake Bruin, fishing with Ronnie, Tanner, Ayden, and Cooper, joyriding the “Rayville Loop”, mud hogging with her high school friends, and visiting with her family.

She is preceded in death by her angels: father, Frazier Tony Bailey III;  grandparents Mildred and Frazier Bailey and  Vivian and Foster Jones;  mother-in-law, Mary Castor; father-in-law, Roy Lee Nesselrode Sr.; and uncle, Charles Hiott.

Lea is survived by her husband, Ronald Taylor Jackson; two children, stepson Tanner Jackson and Elaina Jackson; her mother, Catherine Bailey Greeson and stepfather, William Bland Greeson; her sister, Christin Bailey Siscoe and husband, Leslie Shay Siscoe, and their two boys, Ayden and Cooper Siscoe; sister-in- laws, Raegen and husband, Brian Heisler, and Amanda Castor and husband, Jason Stroud; and brother-in-Law, Ryan Jackson.

She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Lizann and Greg Hogue, Vee and Don Hebert, Linda Bailey, Clint Helstein, Peggy Lasater and Sandy Helstein.  Lea is also survived by her cousins, Pamela and husband, Scott Beach, Donna Hebert, Austin Hogue and wife, Ginny, Jordan Wilkinson and husband, Kyle, and Bailey Hogue, along with numerous friends, mentors, and family members.

Lea would want us to rejoice her life and reunification with her savior and loved ones. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville, from 4–7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Saint David’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Christie Fleming officiating. Lea will be laid to rest at the Rayville Masonic Cemetery next to her father following the service.

Pallbearers for Lea will be her beloved godfathers, James Green and John Thomas Jordan; her cousin, Austin Hogue; her brothers-in-law, Ryan Jackson and Bryan Heisler; and her fatherly mentor, Kenneth Branch; uncles, Donald Hebert and Greg Hogue and Jason Terlouw. Please join us in her celebration of life. We know the angels rejoiced her return and alleviated all her worries here on earth.

“There must be Borrowed Angels here in this life. They come along, into this world, and make this world bright, but they can’t stay forever because they are heaven-sent. And sometimes, heaven needs them back again.”
