Dorothy Ann Shivers Grissom

Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Ann “Dot” Shivers Grissom, 81, of Start, were Monday, August 14, 2023, at Harris Cemetery with Rev. Kelly Wayne Clark officiating with interment in cemetery, all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dot was born February 23, 1942, to the late Lawrence and Constance Shivers, and passed away to go her heavenly home reunion August 12, 2023, at her residence in Start. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter Cheryl Ulmer.

A member of Eastside Baptist Church Dot enjoyed fishing and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Grissom of Start; daughter, Gloria Bowen of Pearl, MS; grandson, Joshua Tyler Hopkins of Brownsburg, IN; two granddaughters, Chevana Mitchell and Apryl Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Arabella Gay; stepchildren, Carolyn Smith and her husband, Jeff, of El Dorado, AR, Bill Grissom and Tamera of Start, Rosemary McDonald and her husband, Paul, of Rayville, Joann Dennard and her husband, Troy, of Crowville, Dooney Grissom and his wife, Rhonda, of Girard and Daniel Grissom and his wife, Ellie, of Rayville; eight step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
