Billy Newsom

Billy Newsom, 89, of Rayville, was born July 30, 1933, in Delhi and passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in Rayville. 

Memorial services were held Monday, May 22, 2023 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, with Bro. Johnny Hoychick officiating. Interment was in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville.

Mr. Billy was a veteran with the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and Ina Gilmore Newsom; and sister, Dena Fay King.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Annette Newsom of Rayville; sons, Stacy Newsom of Monroe and Robert Newsom of West Monroe; grandchildren, Daniel Newsom and wife, Bek, Rachel Ramsey, Mary-Catherine Newsom, David Newsom and wife, Alicia, Jonathan Newsom, and Nathan Newsom; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Ramsey, Brody Ramsey, Chap Newsom, Taylor Newsom, Carter Heine and Jackson Heine; brother, Kenneth E. “Shug” Newsom; sisters, Lilwin Norman and Frankie Wilkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
