Suspect jailed in Delhi shooting

The Delhi Police Department arrested a suspect in a recent shooting within four hours of the crime, Delhi Police Chief Roy Williams said.

He said the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls at 4:48 p.m. Aug. 29 in reference to a shooting on Andover Drive in Delhi. Delhi Police Department officers responded to the scene and witnesses told officers two victims had been transported to Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi in a personal vehicle.  

The witnesses also identified Justin Kline as the suspect who shot the victims while they sat in a vehicle on Andover Drive. Delhi police contacted the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office to ask them to be on the lookout for the vehicle the suspect was driving.  

Chief Roy Williams was then advised by detectives from the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office a black male was in the emergency room in River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg with a gunshot wound. Chief Williams contacted River Region Medical Center and spoke to the emergency room nurse. The nurse advised the subject in their emergency room was Kline. 

Chief Williams then contacted the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and obtained a warrant for Kline. Kline was charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder and his bond was set at $250,000.
