School board planning summer learning camp

The Richland Parish School Board is looking for people interested in taking part in a summer learning camp.

Camp planners are looking for community members and college students who are willing to invest their time and efforts in helping the children of Richland Parish learn in areas such as art, music, technology and fitness.

The camp will be a full-day, four-week camp-like experience that includes core content instruction in the morning and enrichment activities in the afternoon.

Organizers expect the camp to run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday with enrichment opportunities after lunch until 3 p.m. from June 7 through July 1.

The location of the camp will be determined based on enrollment status after registration ends.
