Rayville mayor named to environmental panel

Gov. John Bel Edwards has appointed Rayville Mayor Harry Lewis to the Louisiana Environmental Education Commission.

The mission of the Louisiana Environmental Education Commission is to create a balanced statewide environmental education program for the purpose of identifying the needs and setting priorities for environmental education within the state.

Lewis, who was an educator and principal of Rayville High School before being elected as mayor of Rayville, will represent local government.
