Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of April 24 through May 1.

• Rumika Collins, 39, 20 Vineyard Lane, Rayville; disturbing the peace (general).

• Trevion Straughter, 18, 3040 Hwy 132, Rayville; aggravated assault with a firearm (two counts) and displaying a firearm.

• Donketta Clark, 25, 109 Newsome St., Mangham; displaying a firearm.

The Rayville Police Department issued no traffic citations this week.

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to advice all citizens of Rayville the Rayville Police Department has a zero tolerance policy concerning any act of violence.

Chief Robinson stated if you are engaged in an act of violence, you will be arrested whether or not you are at the scene when the officer arrives to investigate. Chief Robinson said one of his primary objectives is to maintain the peace and safety of the streets of Rayville for all citizens. 

He also advised there is never a good reason to resort to physical violence to resolve a dispute. If you find yourself in a situation that could deteriorate into physical violence, the best solution at the time is either to walk away or call for law enforcement assistance.
