Police Report

The Rayville Police Department made the following arrests for the week of Dec. 19-26.

• Derrie Cooks, 51, 305 Rosa St., Rayville; simple battery (two counts).

• Alisa Lee, 38, 918 Martin Luther King, Rayville; simple assault.

• Jacob Bellot, 31, 1608 West Kentucky, Ruston; battery on a police officer (three counts), shoplifting and disturbing the peace by simple drunk.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of 12 traffic citations this week. That number includes five for speeding and one each for failure to yield with an accident, improper displaying of a license plate, no tail light, no driver’s license, no driver’s license in possession, leaving the scene of an accident and improper lane usage with an accident.

Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to say he hopes everyone had a wonderful Christmas. He would also like to say this year is ending and a new one is about to begin. Chief Robinson stated if you have any unpaid fines or outstanding warrants, now is the time to take care of your legal issues.

Chief Robinson would also like to remind everyone to pay attention to the speed limits posted in town. He would also like to say if you drive in the Town of Rayville, your vehicle must be legal. He stated if you are caught, you will be issued a citation.
