Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to remind everyone about the safety of wearing a seat belt. He stated wearing seat belts and being properly restrained are mandatory. If you fail to wear a seat belt and you are pulled over, you will receive a citation. Chief Robinson stated it is important that every occupant inside a vehicle be properly restrained. He stated it could save your life.

Chief Robinson would also like to tell all drivers that they should avoid doing anything inside a vehicle that is going to take attention away from driving. He stated you should not text and drive. It is not safe. If you are driving and you drop your cellphone, you should leave it there until you stop. Chief Robinson stated there is no phone call or text message that is important enough to endanger your life.

Chief Robinson encourages citizens to come by the Rayville Police Department at 900 Harrison Street if you need his help in any way. He stated you can also call his office at 318-728-4431.
