Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson would like to extend his heartfelt sympathies to all of our community who have suffered recently during this unprecedented weather we experienced.

Whether it was from lack of electricity, lack of water or damages done due to the below freezing temperatures we experienced in our area, our entire community was affected. However, Chief Robinson would like to commend all first responders and people of the community for coming together and putting forth a tremendous effort to assist all during this time.

Chief Robinson would like to remind us all that we could very possibly experience some more winter weather soon.

“As a precaution, please prepare yourselves and your houses for this possible weather,” he said. “Repair broken water pipes and properly insulate them, stock up on necessary items and make sure that a11 basic needs are covered. Even though our focus has been on the weather, remember that COVID-19 is still a threat. Wear your personal protective mask and practice social distancing when needed.”

He also added a reminder to please remember to obey the traffic laws and speed limits that are posted throughout the town. Remain respectful to your neighbors and keep your music turned down to a respectable level.

“We must all work together in order to achieve a desirable outcome for our community,” he said. “Rayville Police Department is open 24/7 and will respond quickly and accordingly.”
