A King

Christmas, a time of wonder and joy, a time to celebrate the birth of a baby boy. A child innocent and true, a child sent as a gift to save me and you. This wondrous story has reached all corners of the globe. A King is born but one who doesn’t wear a royal robe. He will grow to teach and to love. He will spread the word of His Father above. His gentle ways and His touch will turn water to wine. This newborn child is wondrous and divine. His wounds will help heal all those who are in need. This is the gift, no price to ever be given, and even after death, He will be risen. His cries can be heard by all living things. This beautiful baby will grow to be King.

Roger Stockton and his daughter, Shelly, were here on Tuesday with homegrown lemons for me and to share. Beautiful trees and just loaded with as many lemons as you could put on a tree. Thank you, Stocktons, for caring and sharing.

I did enjoy the grilled burger on Wednesday. The sheriff’s department had a fundraiser for Santa for Seniors. It really means a lot for people to care, not only at this time of the year but always.

I received a call last week from Bobbie Fay Clark in Farmerville. It was a most welcome call. I hope she will call again.

Taking a trip up to Branson, MO, last weekend were Steve and Janice Lofton, Dan Martinze and Micheal and Lisa Martinze. They attended and enjoyed yet another very great Christian play.

There were parades last Saturday. It was such a beautiful day for them. I can remember back when my babies and grandbabies were small and you would nearly freeze to death to watch.

Our heartfelt love, prayers and sympathy goes out to Betty Stinson and her children, friends and family in the loss of their loved one, Jimmy Stinson, who the death angel came for last week. Only God can fill the void and loneliness in their lives now. May God bless you all.

When you find yourself in the position to help someone, be happy and feel blessed because God is answering that person’s prayer through you. Remember: Our purpose on earth is not to get lost in the dark but to be a light to others, so that they may find a way through us.

Happy Birthday this week to Rejeanna Clark, Tommy Rawls and Addison Greer on Dec. 9, Keelon Steele on Dec. 10, Brandon Holley on Dec. 11, Natalie McManus, Charlotte McKnight, Carolyn Calloway, Toney Brock, Landon Magie and, yes, me on Dec. 12, Dustin Self and Lacey Self on Dec. 13, Frankie Faust on Dec. 14, Tammie Hough and my great-granddaughter, Charlie Bardeaux, on Dec. 15.

Anniversary wishes to Tina and Eric Silk (37) years on Dec. 15. I wish for these many more happy years together.

Have a great week! Don’t do too much shopping. Ha!

Just think: Let us rejoice in His Life and believe in His love and celebrate His promise this Christmas always.

Merry Christmas with love, Shirley.
