How to fix America

Put Jesus back in all the places you asked him to leave, home, school, government, church and your heart.

The butterfly does not look back at the caterpillar in shame, just as you should not look back at your past in shame. Your past was part of your own transformation.

Just because you ignore God doesn’t mean He ignores you. Nor does it mean He leaves you. Deal with it Christian.

You’re not more powerful than His commitment to you.

Here during the week were Kirby Money from Forest, Miss., and James Money and Vivian from Houston, Texas.

Also here were Francis Moore Johnson from Star City, Ark., and her children, Jimmy and Shirley. Mrs. Francis loves to come back near where she was brought up. Ha.

Carley Ruth Calhoun Price and Becky Calhoun Alara were up for a visit with family and friends and to visit the cemetery. Always good to see them.

Here on Saturday were Sandra Blaylock Smith from Monroe, Elaine Blaylock and Klaudia Cameron from Huntsville, Ala. Sandra always comes by. Thanks.

Vanessa and I motored up to Farmerville on Sunday evening for a surprise visit with my “lil” brother, Malvin, and Sharon Sistrunk. Looks good and says he feels good, but just not like it used to be. Ha. Who is? She had made tea cakes that a.m. So good. Yummy.

I’m so glad you are part of the family of God.

Happy birthday this week to my John Thompson and Karleigh Cheek on Aug. 12, Donnie Hough on Aug. 13, John Crocker, Brandi Corley, Molly Stokes and Breonna Cheek on Aug. 14, Sandi P. Blaylock, Bennie Wynn and Elizabeth Sharbono on Aug. 15, David Bryant on Aug. 16, Brant Higdon on Aug. 17, my friend Nancy Pee Zeller and Freddie Fannchill on Aug. 18.

I wish for these many, many more happy ones to celebrate.

Anniversary wishes to my grandchildren, Tyler and Ashley on Aug. 14, Alan and Lisa Patrick on Aug. 15, Floyd and Donnie Swain on Aug. 16, Jimmy and Bobby Smith and Hal and Cindy Simon on Aug. 17.

May all of these fine people have many, many more years to celebrate together.

Have a great week and do respect our farmers and their large machinery during their gathering of the crops. Thanks.

Remember: It doesn’t matter how big or small your church is. What matters is the message: Jesus.
