Holly Ridge Happenings

If you watch HGTV too long, you’ll become dissatisfied with your home. If you stay on social media too long, you’ll become dissatisfied with your life. If you watch the news too long, you’ll become dissatisfied with the world.

Unplug.

Pray.

Read the Bible.

Spend time with loved ones.

Take a walk.

Our minds are easily influenced, but we control what the influences are.

Choose wisely.

Well, it’s summertime, so let’s go to the beach.

Jeanne, Cooper, Ben, Emily, Ahndi and Catton Thompson, Spencer Bostick and Ahndi’s friend, Ellie, spent the week down at Gulf Shores. Just a tad bit tanned. They loved it.

Yes, Chellie Rawls, Riena, Clara and Christashia spent a few days in Perdida Beach, Fla. They also loved it but were glad to be back north of Holly Ridge. Ha.

Bobbie Donald Fallin called on Wednesday. Just had me on her mind, so we visited several minutes. She said tell all of her friends back here hello.

Mrs. Mary Russell called me this morning to tell how great it was for Sheriff Gary Gilley and deputies giving a fish fry with all the trimmings on July 22 for Mickie Nichols retirement from the Council on Aging and everyone enjoyed this occasion.

Bonnie Payne is now the director for the Richland Voluntary COA. She will be a good one, too.

Normal isn’t coming back. Jesus is.

Happy birthday this week to Blake McCowin, Randy Swain, Eric Tibbs, Madison Silk, Alexis Clack and Ryan Gammill on Aug. 5, Mark Thomas on Aug. 6, James E.
