Holly Ridge Happenings

There is no reset button in life.

You can’t take anything back and you can’t undo anything. All of your actions have consequences and the things you say and do today will have a lasting impact on the rest of your life.

You have to understand that and you have to be aware of it while making your decisions.

If God is making you wait, then do what waiters do ... serve.

I found out that my “lil cuz” Randy was buying a place near hear so maybe he’ll come around more often. Ha.

Jamie, Deline and Roman Rawls have been here from Oklahoma for several days, helping with the youth rally at the Pentecostal Church in Bastrop. I hear it was a great success.

Judy Slayter invited Louise Cater, Alice Cumpton, Mary Williamson Helen Netherland and Beverly Jackson to go with her to Sherveport to the home of her daughter, Jodie Reynolds, on Thursday for a lunch visit. The food was great and such nice hospitality. They also visited with Jodie’s mother-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Reynolds.

They had a most enjoyable visit.

Gary D. Clark is home and recovering slowly after his hip surgery last Wednesday. Our get well wishes go out to him.

Hey, if you need a Holly Ridge book or Rhymes Library memoir book, I have some here. Come see me.

Oh, yes! My Tyler, Ashley, Curtis and Aiden Cheek’s new home is going up on the Mitchener Road.

Happy birthday this week to my grandson, Ben Thompson, Jason Brock, Melanie Rawls, Jan Walker, Bo Horne and Charlie Dove on July 29; Niki Smith, Patsy Self, Shane Pyles, Judy W.  Our heartfelt sympathy, love and prayers go out to the family of Will Mitchell, a friend at the Beacon, on the home going of his 92-year-old mom who took her heavenly flight last week. We will surely miss her, but God’s love will be there for them.

 Have a great week.

Remember: God embraces the entirety of eternity all at once and yet He is with us in the moment.
