Holly Ridge Happenings

I was watching a video last night and a preacher held up a $100 bill.

He said when it was made it was a crisp bill with no wrinkles. That $100 bill was used in a drug deal. It was used on prostitution. It had been in the mud. It was worn. It had torn corners.

How much is that $100 bill worth now?

It is still worth the same as the day it was made.

That’s how God see us. No matter our past, no matter what we’ve gone through and no matter how damaged we are now, we are worth just as much to Him today as we were the day He created us.

Visting with me on Tuesday were Earnie and Carolyn Perry and their little grandson. They enjoyed their visit. It had been a while since he had been here. I did not know he had been so sick and in the hospital, but is now on the road to recovery. My get well wishes and prayers go out to him.

Josh and Jenna Bolster, Stephen, Etan, Max and Eliana spent the weekend with Janice and Steve Lofton.

They’re a sweet little family and we always look forward to their coming.

Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Patsy A.D. Cook who passed away last week. The memorial service will be at a later date for the family. May God be with each one touched by her life.

Happy Birthday this week to Drew Clack, Kelsy Moore and Madaline and Katherine Lucas on July 1, Mitchell Stokes and Cindy Martinez on July 3, Jean Silk, A.C. Hewitt, Laural Jones and Elizabeth Sharplin on July 4, Jonathan Williams and Cassie Livingston on July 5, Geneva Williams, Tonya Vaugh Babby and Finn Nix on July 6 and Joe Williams on July 7. Anniversary wishes to Barbara and Richard Blaylock on July 1, Linda and William Cade on July 4 and Cindy and Alvin Bell on July 7. May these share many more happy years together.

Have a great week! Please call and share.

Remember: Jesus fed 5,000 but only 500 followed Him after lunch. He had 12 disciples, but only three went further in the garden and only one stood with Him at the cross.

The closer you get to the cross, the smaller the crowd gets.
