Holly Ridge Happenings

Simple truths to repeat when you’re in a spiritual battle:

God’s got this. The Lord fights for me. Jesus loves me.

Not today, Satan, I am a child of God and He is able.

It is finished. His  Grace is sufficient. Joy comes in the morning and I am not alone. I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Fear has no grip on me. Christ is enough for me. He has overcome the world and I am a new creation in Christ. Jesus conquered the grave and Sin doesn’t define me. Christ does. Be still and know God is Good.

Christian, God has given you everything you need for life and Godliness.

It is Himself In you! You lack nothing!

Here on Saturday was Cora Mae Duncan from Bastrop, Francis Moore Johnson from Star City, Ark., and Phyllis Foster from Monroe. We had such a good visit.

Sue Cobb from Lafayette came up for a visit with Jerry and Diane Cobb. Now I have more of the Small Milltown, Holly Ridge books to sell. Come by to see me, Okay?

The descendants of Oscar and Rachel Rawls had their family reunion on Saturday at Uncle Daniel Rawls’ house. There were some 70 plus who gathered for food, fun and fellowship. A great grandson, John Graham, did the cooking while everyone else added casseroles and desserts. I know they had a great time!

Here on Sunday afternoon were Jennifer Boyd, Penny Boyd Hamons and Curry McKinely, Penny’s granddaughter. They enjoyed an ice cream cone while we sat and talked, remembering when.

Happy Birthday this week to Sarah Thompson and Chris Tibbs on June 24, Carly Cade and Barry Blanton on June 25, Joshua Absher, Lee Corbett and Katie Logendyk on June 26, Tommy “Duke” Jones, Spencer and Mac Elkins on June 27, Mrs. Martiel Gandy on June 28, Iris Mayberry on June 29, Brooke Vaughn, Bobby Hales, Justin Dove, Mamie Miller and Chuck Muler on June 30th. May these celebrate many more happy ones!

Anniversary wishes to all who had one during this week that I don’t know about, Ha!, and many more.

Our heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Jake Edge who passed away on Sunday. May God bless you all.

Have a great week and again thanks to you who so kindly have given to our cemetery fund.

Remember: Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden.
