Holly Ridge Happenings

A professor gave a balloon to every student who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway.

The professor then mixed all the balloons. The students were given five minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search no one found their balloon. At this point the professor told the students to take the first balloon they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it. Within five minutes, everyone had their own balloon.

The professor said to the students, “These balloons are like happiness. We will never find it if everyone is looking for their own. But if we care about other people’s happiness we’ll find ours, too.”

We went to church on Sunday, when we returned there was a plastic bag tied to the front door with a note which read, “Good Morning. Granny, Graham and Annaleigh wanted to share their garden with you. Here is fresh lettuce and green beans. They picked them this morning. Have a great day. We love you! Angeleah, Graham and Annaleigh.”

How sweet it is! I had fresh lettuce and a cup of green beans on Monday. Makes me happy to know that I’m so “special.” Ha! God is Good!

Hey, get this. Do you remember the Turnage girls who lived in our community years ago? There was Francis, Joyce, Carolyn and Judy. Well on my Facebook page, we found out that Judy now lives in Marietta Georgia on Holly Ridge Drive. Ha! That’s like Doug and Nellie Thompson who live on Holly Ridge Drive in Monroe.

Here for a visit on Saturday were David and Kay Shanks from Bossier City. It had been quite a while since their last visit and this was a most welcome one. They are very dear to me and mine.

Chelle Rawls, Roina and Holly spent Memorial Day weekend in Broken Bow, Okla. The cabin was very nice and the park was great! They did enjoy this outing and just being away. Ha.
