Holly Ridge Happenings

If you still have your mom, love her and tell her that often you will surely miss her when God calls her home!

Travis “Cootsie” Richards and son, Troy Richards, flew to Boston on April 22 to attend two Red Sox games at Fenway Park. Cootsie’s favorite team has always been the Red Sox and he has always wanted to attend a game at the nation’s oldest baseball park. They got to see the Red Sox take on the Seattle Mariners.

While in Boston, they stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf on the Boston Harbor. They took a bus tour of historic Boston, visited Paul Revere’s house, rode the subway and ate some really good food. Boston will never be the same.

First let me say a big “thank you” to all the comments and likes you send my way on the Thompson Grocery Facebook page. It means a lot to me to know that so many people look at it and I do appreciate it.

Here on Thursday were T.K. Stanley and Marilyn Nivens. It was a very good visit. Louise was here and she enjoyed them also. Ken and Betty Crawford, Gerri Calloway and sister, Donna, came over for a final visit on this trip before Ken and Betty want back to California by way of Branson. Mrs. Evon Owens Douglas from Haughton was coming to visit them on Friday.

Bobbie Donald Fallen called me on Saturday to tell me she was now a resident in a home in West Monroe. We visited for a while by phone.

Happy Birthday this week to Gloria Hough, Kylie Mills, Caroline Mills and Taylor Kate Kennedy on May 6, Joey Richardson on May 8, Debbie Stokes, Shannon Maxwell and Nancy Hartman on May 10 and Shirley Stokes and Sherry Hough on May 11. May these celebrate many more happy ones. Belated birthday wishes to Trent Livingston on April 30.

Anniversary wishes to Andy and Megan Chappell on May 8. I wish for them many more happy years together.

Have a great week.

Remember:  Something is seriously wrong when the World is offended by everything but sin. We got to give this world back to God.
