Oh face to face with trouble, friend, I have often stood to learn that pain hath sweetness, to know that God is good. Arise and meet the daylight. Be strong and do your best, with an honest heart and a childlike trust that God will do the rest.

Our heartfelt love, prayers and sympathy goes out to the Cheek family and McVay family in the loss of their loved one, “Lil” Freddie Joe McVay Jr. Only God knows how much it hurts. He is able to relive all pain and heartache. May God bless each one touched by his passing.

Stopping in at the store one day this week was Earlyn Tarver Langstaff of West Monroe, Edward and Vickie Tarver from Caledonia, Ms., and Billy Tarver from Vicksburg, Ms. These were children who grew up in our community. It’s always good for them to stop by.

I didn’t find my friends. God gave them to me and I know that for a fact.

May each of these celebrate many more.

Anniversary wishes to Wayne and Annette Vondenstine on April 30 and Mandi and Nick Gibson on April 5. I wish for these many more years of happy marriage.
