KENNETH BLAINE KING

KENNETH BLAINE KING

Graveside services celebrating the life of Mr. Kenneth Blaine King, 81, of Rayville, were held Monday, October 27, 2025, in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville.

Kenneth was born on September 1, 1944, in Vicksburg, MS, and passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, following an illness.

He served as Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, where he was commanding officer for Unit A in the Vietnam War. Such a great man and a true veteran Marine at heart, he received the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge during his Vietnam Tour.

Kenneth was the patriarch of his family and the steady rock of whom his loved ones leaned on. He loved deeply and gave selflessly. His kind, gentle, loving and caring spirit touched everyone he knew. He was a wonderful cook who enjoyed cooking for everyone. Each meal and dessert he prepared was an expression of his love and devotion to family and friends. He was also an avid gardener and working in his yard. He never met a stranger and was the most honest man that ever walked.

Kenneth, through his passing, was reunited with his son, George Robert Greeson and granddaughter, Elizabeth Lea Bailey.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marie Louise Towne King; son, William Bland Greeson and wife, Catherine; grandchildren, Bryant Culbertson Mendolia, William Bland Mendolia, and Christin Bailey Siscoe.

The family is deeply grateful to his caregiver Annette “Anita” Brown, his doctor, Kyle Bailey Bruyninckx and the ICU Team at St. Francis Medical Center for their loving care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Undiagnosed Disease Network Foundation, 1012 14th St. NW suite 500 Washington, DC 20005.

As a Marine, Kenneth lived by the motto ”Semper Fidelis” which means “Always Faithful.”
