Dewey “Bobby” Franklin Lofton, 86, of Holly Ridge, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025.

He was born on January 13, 1939, in Franklin County, Mississippi, to the late Vina S. Lofton and Hardy Newman Lofton.

Bobby devoted his life to his family, his faith, and his work. A skilled carpenter by trade, he poured his heart into every project he touched. Outside of work, he found joy in tending his garden and spending time surrounded by the family he so dearly loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Martha Gill Lofton; his children John Lofton and Jamie Lofton, both of Rayville; his daughters Teresa Stephenson, Debbie Chapman, Melanie Grissom (Jason), and Melinda Lofton, all of Rayville.

He was preceded in death by his twelve siblings. Bobby was the proud grandfather of Shelby Stampley (Megan), Tracey Mahoney (Roger), Kasey Stampley (Dalton), Rebecca Shaw (Waymon), Brandon Guimbellot (Jennifer), Elaina Guimbellot, Courtney Grissom, Mikey Grissom, Madison Williams and Daxton Williams, and the cherished greatgrandfather of 18.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In his final act of generosity, Bobby gave the gift of donating his body to research, continuing his legacy of strength, faith and love.

He will be remembered for his hard work, his unwavering faith, and the deep love he had for his family – a legacy that will live on for generations to come.
