Interment followed at Warren Cemetery in Lismore under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Winnsboro. The family received friends for visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the church.

Bro. Raymond was born on September 6, 1950, in Ferriday, and passed from this life on May 9, 2025, at his home in Crowville.

Bro. Raymond surrendered to the ministry in 1979 and was ordained at Lismore Baptist Church in 1980. He pastored Parhams Baptist Church in Parhams, and Shady Grove Baptist Church in Jigger. He was interim pastor at Calvary Baptist in Gilbert. He pastored at Westside Baptist Church in Delhi, Crockett Point Baptist Church in Crowville, and New Life Assembly of God in Winnsboro. He then was associate pastor at River of Life in Winnsboro.

So today, Bro. Raymond knows what he is talking about. Before, he kind of knew, had an idea, and had read and told others about it several times, but today there is no mystery. Before he knew Jesus, but not like he does today. Today he has no words to say how he feels. They would only weaken the sentiment of his heart towards Jesus and all he has known. Today he looks into eternity with Jesus and knows there is no end to it. I imagine today they’re both grinning like they got away with something. If you know Jesus like he did, there will be days when you will miss him because of today’s separation. But know this, that his greatest blessing today is knowing that the only thing that separates you from him is a little time. And what is that compared to eternity with Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Clara White Beard; brothers, Buddy Beard, Bobo Beard, Elliot Beard, and Jules Beard: sisters, Gertrude Blount, Barbara Hale, Etta Jean Thomas, and his twin baby sister.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Amanda Warren Beard; children, Kami Philley & husband, James, Mary Beard, and Isaac Beard & wife, Shae; grandchildren, Jamie, Thomas, Sam, Bo, Jacob, Terra, Stormy, Makayla, Belle, Emma and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Thalia, Alivia, Pete, Bash, Kyleigh, Kohen, Wren and Mabry; his sisters-inlaw, Jerri Beard and Fern Beard; and he is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers were Jamie Philley, Sam Philley, Jacob Harrod, Thomas Temple, Bo Beard, and Justin Grant.

Honorary pallbearers are Billy White, Larry Adams, Choia Nale, Carey McCoy, Bonner Wiggers, Larry Leggit and Donnie Chappel.55
