Bears continue season
The Delhi Bears the Big Dave Classic

Delhi’s tournament run continued when they took on McKinley on Dec. 11.

The game between the Bears and the Panthers didn’t end well, with the Bears falling 50-32. The contest marked the Bears’ lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Delhi lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kamarrio Banks, who posted 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Jayden Lusk and Jatavis Hester were other key players, putting up seven points each.

This is the second loss in a row for Delhi and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for McKinley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Delhi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Dec. 12 as the team picked up their third straight loss.

They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beau Chene Gators. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn’t forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Delhi’s loss came despite strong showings from Kamarrio Banks and Jayden Lusk.

Banks dropped a double- double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Lusk posted six points along with seven boards and four steals.

Lusk is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he’s now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he’s played.
