“Our current District Performance Score is the highest since the state implemented the Every Student Succeeds Act in 2018,” Richland Parish Superintendent Sheldon Jones stated. “The performance of Richland Parish reflects the hard work of our students, teachers, administrators and support staff. Our parents and greater school community are to be commended for their support of our schools. The state will transition to the Grow, Achieve, Thrive Accountability model to calculate scores next year. Richland Parish is committed to continuous improvement of classroom instruction for all students. District and School Performance Scores for the 2024-2025 school year are based on the current accountability model aligned to the Every Student Succeeds Act. All stakeholders should be aware that the accountability system for the next school year will be calculated using the Grow. Achieve. Thrive model.”

Jones added Richland Parish welcomes the release of accountability data for the previous school year. This data will be used to identify areas for improvement to address learning loss and gaps that continue to worsen each year. Areas identified for improvement in each school’s Needs Assessment and Strategic Action Plan will support recovery and acceleration efforts across the school district.
Richland Parish partners with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching to better support instructional shifts in teaching and learning.
