Delhi High School senior Jamal Fountain earned second place in the High School Division of the 2025 Inclusive Art Awards Program, hosted by the Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs.

“He is not only one of the most talented students I’ve had the privilege to work with, but he is extremely kind and respectful,” Gifted and Talented teacher Jennifer Hoychick said. “He is very deserving of this honor.”

This annual event celebrates creativity, inclusion, and the artistic achievements of students across Louisiana. Jamal’s outstanding artwork impressed judges with its originality and meaningful expression, earning him a medal and special recognition from Gov. Jeff Landry.

The awards ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Dec. 10 at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge.

“DHS is incredibly proud of Jamal’s accomplishment and the way he continues to represent the school with excellence, creativity, and pride,” a school spokesman said. “Congratulations, Jamal, on this well deserved honor.”
