The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office and TRIAD are once again inviting the public to take part in the annual Santa for Seniors program, which brings gifts and cheer to senior citizens who might otherwise spend the holidays alone.
Many seniors in the parish struggle to meet basic needs throughout the year. The program encourages residents to “be a Santa to a senior” by donating affordable personal-care or comfort items--most of which can be found at local stores for around $1.25. Canned goods are also welcome.
Suggested donation items include non-skid socks, crossword puzzles, hand soap, Clorox wipes, crackers, large-print Reader’s Digest magazines, fruit cups, washing detergent, deodorant, shampoo, baby wipes, and puzzles.
Organizers ask donors to avoid gifting hotel soaps or toothpaste.
Items can be dropped off at the following locations: the Richland Parish Courthouse, Delhi Hospital, Mangham Baptist Church, Rayville Hospital, Winnsboro State Bank (Mangham and Rayville), Guaranty Bank (Rayville and Delhi), B1 Bank, and Cadence Bank.
Donation boxes will be picked up Dec. 16, 2025.
