The Rayville Junior High School Student Council celebrated Halloween on Oct. 31 with a “Treat or Sting” event that combined fun and learning.
Students enjoyed educational games in science, reading, social studies and math designed to keep them engaged while celebrating the holiday.
Activities included a pumpkin decorating contest, door decorating contest, costume contest and a cake walk. Winners in the pumpkin contest were Ja’Maia Jenkins, first place; Marly Banks, second place; and Jade Smith, third place — all sixth graders.
The Children’s Museum of Monroe presented a hands-on program on human anatomy using a giant teddy bear.
Student council members thanked students, parents and community members for their support, with special appreciation to Cool Kids Incorporated for helping make the event a success.
