RES health and fitness expo gets kids moving

RES health and fitness expo gets kids moving

Rayville Elementary welcomed students, families and community partners to its 2025 Health & Fitness Expo on Oct. 30, transforming the RES Parent Center into a hub of wellness and fun.

From 10 a.m. to noon, classes rotated through interactive exhibits, learning about everything from dental hygiene to mental health resources.

Dr. Tyler Heath’s table was a favorite among younger students, who practiced brushing a stuffed pup’s teeth while learning about oral care. Tender Touch Nursery led a meaningful Mental Health Walk, encouraging emotional awareness and self-care. But the biggest crowd-pleaser was AmeriHealth’s “fun bus,” where upbeat music had students and staff dancing both inside and outside the vehicle.

Parents were invited to explore the wide range of resources offered by visiting vendors, including Families Helping Families, LSU AgCenter, M&M Behavioral Center and the Richland Parish Health Unit. The LifeShare Blood Bank mobile unit was also on site for those wishing to donate.

With valuable information, healthy treats and a strong turnout, the morning was a vibrant success. It blended education, movement and community connection in true Hornet style.
